We discussed possible project ideas in class Wednesday and decided to do a story based animation. There were several suggestions for the story concept suggested during our brainstorming session, including:
Acorn Life Cycle:
Acorns fall from a tree and go on a mission impossible type mission to plant themselves, but they are being hunted by an animal, perhaps a squirrel.
Robot Miner:
A little down-on-his-luck robot worker loses his arm/tool/part in an industrial mine setting and must find a way to get it back before he gets in trouble.
The following suggestions were the product of having a fantasy world vs. real world theme:
Child Art:
A little kid loses his ball in a mural and goes in to get it back. The mural is being erased, however, so the child must sacrifice his ball to escape. After leaving he realizes that he would rather draw a picture than play with the ball because he is inspired by the mural world.
Animator's World:
A computer animator gets frustrated with a project he is working on, and decides to jump into his creation to fix the problem. In fixing the problem, he inadvertently traps himself and must find a way out.
Crazy Man:
A crazy man walks and talks/mumbles to himself as people on the street make fun of him. We then see the world inside the man's head (a more cartoony world), and that what appeared to be mad ramblings in the real world were everyday interaction with the people of his fantasy world.
For class on Friday we'd like for everyone to try and flesh out a couple of the above ideas in more detail. More writing or possibly even character sketches would be nice. If anyone comes up with any other ideas, bring them to class.
